I cashed in my free frozen entree coupon* a couple of weeks ago to try out Kashi's Lemongrass Coconut Chicken.
Here's what Kashi has to say about this entree:
Fragrant Thai flavors, no takeout menu necessary. Grilled chicken with broccoli, sugar snap peas and carrots served over our 7 whole grains and sesame pilaf with red quinoa, and topped with a lemongrass coconut sauce and coconut flakes. 18g proten & 7g fiber
I thought it was okay. I would have liked to see more chicken in it, and less lemongrass. As soon as I took it out of the micro all I could smell was lemon - which was nice. But all I could taste was lemon. The lemon was definitely overpowering.
I liked the sugar snap peas, and the rice pilaf had a nice grainy texture. The dinner looked nice as well. Not limp & frozen dinnery like some frozen dinners look. The 18g of protein & 7g of fiber were definitely in there, too. I was full after eating only this for dinner one night. The portion size was good too.
The price was allright, had I paid for it: $3.59. A little higher than some of the other frozen dinners I normally buy, but since I was actually full after eating the Lemongrass Coconut Chicken, it would be worth buying again if they toned down the lemon.

I tried the Black Bean Mango entree. The texture was good, but it was really bland. I didn't even finish eating it, which is sad - I think it is a really promising combination! I wouldn't buy it.
I had the lemongrass chicken as well. I liked the quinoa better than what many products go for with rice - much more solide, less mushy out of the microwave. I live in an expensive area and I think I would have paid $4.50 or so for the meal. I almost certainly wouldn't buy it for myself but it was pretty tasty.
I tried the Sweet and Sour Chicken. I agree, it was ok and I was full after eating it, but I would not pay full price for it either.
