Will Rite Aid make it through 2009?

My husband the financial analyst just sent me this link:  15 Companies That Might Not Survive 2009

We've already seen and heard about many stores closing their doors in 2008.  With the economy still faltering, it's only natural to wonder who's next.  Who's on this article's list that are of interest to me?  Rite Aid!  I do my best freebate shopping at Rite Aid, so will certainly be sad to see its doors close if these predictions are true.

Have you heard of any other faves shutting down for good because of the economy?

  1. I don't think Rite Aid will survive. My local Rite Aid has a staff of morons (management included), and I was forced to fill out a feedback form because I received such poor service. If that location is indicative of the rest of the chain, I don't see them surviving.

If I had to put any money on stores going out of business, I'd have to say that the Gap conglomerate (Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic) needs to downsize and reduce the amount of stores they have. The clothes in all of the brands has sucked for over a decade now, so they really need to rethink their strategy.

  2. I agree on Old Navy quality going downhill. They make everything so thin now, I wondered if that was a fad but I think they are just cheap.

So, I know you have an opinion or idea about this....tell me what it is!
